Ikea has taken a significant step in improving its delivery services for Irish customers with the inauguration of its first distribution centre in Rathcoole, South Dublin.
This strategic move, doubling the size of Croke Park, promises faster and more efficient home deliveries while creating job opportunities for over 200 individuals.
The new Dublin distribution centre marks a pivotal shift as Irish orders will no longer need to be dispatched from the UK. This streamlined process translates into reduced delivery times, with customers now experiencing delivery within three days of placing their orders.
In a dual commitment to sustainability and operational excellence, Ikea has also announced the adoption of zero-emission vehicles for all Dublin home deliveries starting Wednesday.
By August 2025, all Irish orders will exclusively be delivered using zero-emission vehicles, aligning with Ikea’s global sustainability goals.
Jakob Bertilsson, Ikea’s country customer fulfilment manager, emphasizes that the distribution centre’s launch will ensure faster and more reliable deliveries, enhance product availability, and reduce lead times for Irish customers. This strategic investment reflects Ikea’s dedication to customer satisfaction and environmental stewardship within the Irish market.
