Gisele has no recollection of the decade-long abuse she suffered, which came to light in 2020 when police uncovered hundreds of distressing images of her on her husband’s phone.
The disturbing photographs and videos, taken at their home in Mazan, near Avignon, France, depicted her unconscious in a fetal position and were alleged to show multiple instances of rape.
Despite having the option for a closed-door trial, Gisele chose to proceed with a public court case, believing that her attackers would benefit from the secrecy.

The trial took a dramatic turn yesterday when the defendant’s daughter, Caroline Darian, was compelled to leave the courtroom. The judge revealed that the accused’s computer contained nude photographs of Darian, which prompted her to collapse in tears.
Darian, who is now in her 40s, expressed her conviction to *Le Parisien* that she had been drugged, though she doubts her father will ever confess to this.
Presiding Judge Roger Arata’s recounting of the explicit images caused Darian to exit the court for approximately 20 minutes. Darian has previously authored a book on the case titled ‘And I Stopped Calling You Daddy,’ which the judge referenced during the trial.
She has also voiced concerns that her father might have allowed others to abuse her, especially after discovering a photo of her in “someone else’s underwear” on his computer.
The case has involved several alleged rapists from diverse professions, including civil servants, ambulance workers, soldiers, correctional officers, nurses, a journalist, a municipal councillor, and truck drivers.
