Hundreds of Palestinians Seen Looting Aid Convoy in Gaza, Blocking Deliveries from US Pier: Video
Hundreds of Palestinians have gathered and looted an aid convoy in Gaza over the weekend, highlighting the chaotic aid distribution in the region.
The United States has invested $350 million in constructing a pier in the Mediterranean Sea to streamline aid delivery to Gaza.

Despite transferring approximately 569 metric tons of aid through the pier, the Pentagon confirmed that none of it has reached the Palestinians.
Major General Pat Ryder, the Pentagon press secretary, acknowledged the aid blockage during a statement to the press on Tuesday. While emphasizing the amount of aid transferred, he admitted that none had been delivered to the intended recipients.
When questioned by a reporter about the lack of aid delivery, Ryder mentioned ongoing air drops and land crossings but assured that aid distribution would commence shortly. However, he conceded that as of that day, no aid had been delivered to the people of Gaza.
The incident of crowds swarming aid caravans, as seen in the May 18 footage, has been a recurring problem in the region, hindering access to certain areas.
UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric addressed the issue during a press conference, describing how Palestinians had taken matters into their own hands due to the lack of aid distribution. Trucks passing through areas without aid were targeted by people who feared they would not receive any assistance, leading to the looting of supplies.
