A convicted felon from Georgia faces federal charges after threatening to kill President Donald Trump during a TikTok livestream, authorities confirmed.
Jauan Rashun Porter, 29, of Rome, Georgia, is charged with one count of threats against the president and successors, according to a criminal complaint filed in the Northern District of Georgia.
Porter has a lengthy criminal history, including convictions for making terroristic threats, influencing a witness, mutiny in a penal institution, drug possession, battery, possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, and domestic violence, the U.S. Attorney’s Office stated.

The alleged threats occurred during a July 26 TikTok livestream entitled “Alligator Alcatraz,” referencing a large immigrant detention facility in the Florida Everglades. During the broadcast, Porter reportedly made multiple explicit statements expressing his intent to shoot and kill Trump, who served as the 45th and 47th president of the United States.
“So there’s only one way to make America great, and that is putting a bullet in between Trump’s eyes,” Porter allegedly said on the livestream.
He repeated similar threats, including, “I’m gonna kill Donald Trump,” and specified, “I’m gonna put a 7.62 bullet inside of his forehead… I’m gonna watch him bleed out and I’m gonna watch him die… I’m gonna do that. Yes. Yes. Me.”
When challenged to repeat his statements, Porter responded, “I could say it three more times for you.”
In response to questions about his location, he said: “You’ll know. It’ll be on the news… his [POTUS’] rally is coming up pretty soon and I’m going there and I’m going to put a bullet in his head.”
Approximately one minute into the video, Porter declared: “I am going to kill the President of the United States.” The livestream host warned him about a potential FBI visit, but Porter replied, “I’m gonna kill them too… and then kill myself.”
When asked whether such violent language was normal, Porter said, “Normal behaviour would be speaking on something and then doing it,” according to court documents.
Further exchanges included Porter changing his stated bullet calibre from 7.62 to 5.56, both common rifle ammunition types, reaffirming his intent to kill Trump and then himself.
Identifying himself as “JJ,” Porter elaborated on his planned assassination method, describing in detail how he would position himself inside an abandoned building near a rally to take the shot.

The livestream host recorded the video and reported it to authorities.
TikTok alerted the U.S. Secret Service on July 30 and provided a copy of the livestream. Investigators traced the account and email to Porter.
During a search of his residence, federal agents seized two pipes, pistol ammunition, and Tannerite, an explosive substance.
Initially denying knowledge of the livestream, Porter later admitted to posting the threats and acknowledged their seriousness during questioning.
Porter’s girlfriend told investigators she was unaware of the livestream’s details but recalled Porter mentioning the video. She also said Porter often engaged in online “trolling,” which served as a social outlet for him.
Separately, in May 2023, Porter was accused of attacking an inmate at Floyd County Jail.
Porter is currently held in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
