Three men have been arrested following the seizure of drugs worth an estimated €500,000, along with cash and ammunition, during a Garda operation in Limerick city.
Gardaí from the Limerick Divisional Drug Unit, supported by regional units, intercepted a vehicle in the Galvone area on Tuesday. Inside, officers found cannabis herb valued at approximately €30,000.
A follow-up search at a nearby premises uncovered a larger haul — around €350,000 worth of cannabis, €150,000 in cocaine, €30,000 in cash, nearly 200 rounds of firearm ammunition, and other drug-related items.
“Three men, two in their 40s and one in his 30s, have been arrested in connection with these seizures,” a Garda spokesperson confirmed.
The suspects are being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1996, at Garda stations in the Limerick Division. The seized drugs have been sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
Investigations remain ongoing.
