Washington, D.C. – First Lady Melania Trump announced on Wednesday that the White House will once again welcome the public later this month, marking the first time tours have resumed during President Donald Trump’s second term.
According to the First Lady’s office, public tours of the executive mansion—which were temporarily paused as the 47th president transitioned into office—will officially restart on February 25.
“The President and I are excited to reopen the White House to those interested in the extraordinary story of this iconic and beautiful landmark,” Melania Trump said in a statement.

She emphasised the White House’s historical significance: “There is much to learn about the American Presidency, the First Families who have lived here, and our Nation’s rich history from a firsthand experience at the White House.”
She further highlighted that this tradition is unique to the United States, allowing hundreds of thousands of visitors each year to witness the nation’s heritage up close.
Tour Details and Historical Access
Public tours of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue will include access to several notable rooms within the East Wing and the Residence. Visitors will be able to explore the Vermeil Room, the Library, the China Room, the Blue Room, the Red Room, the Green Room, the State Dining Room, and also enjoy a view of the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, as per information released by the White House.
Those interested in visiting must submit requests through their congressional representatives up to three months in advance.

The tours will be self-guided, but Secret Service agents stationed along the route will be available to provide historical insights and details on how the Trump administration is currently using each room.

Balancing First Lady Duties and Family Life
In addition to her official responsibilities, Melania Trump has reiterated her commitment to balancing her role as First Lady, mother, and wife.
She has confirmed that she will divide her time between Washington, New York, and South Florida to ensure she can be present for her son Barron, a freshman at New York University.
“I will be in the White House. And when I need to be in New York, I will be in New York,” Melania Trump said during a January 13 interview with Fox News before the inauguration. “When I need to be in Palm Beach, I will be in Palm Beach. My first priority is to be a mom, to be a First Lady, to be a wife.”
The resumption of White House tours is expected to draw significant interest from American citizens and international visitors, reinforcing the historical and cultural significance of the nation’s capital.
