A father and grandfather tragically drowned while attempting to rescue their toddler from a hotel swimming pool at the Top of the Mark Holiday Apartments in Gold Coast, Australia.

Dharmvir Singh, 38, and Gurjinder Singh, 65, took swift action when the incident occurred at 7 pm on Sunday, March 31, diving into the rooftop pool fully clothed to save the child.

Unfortunately, both men succumbed to the water, and bystanders quickly intervened, pulling them out of the pool.

CPR was administered on the spot by the bystanders until emergency services arrived, but despite their efforts, Dharmvir Singh and Gurjinder Singh could not be revived.

The tragic turn of events profoundly impacted the onlookers and responders, with Mitchell Ware of Queensland Ambulance Service expressing the emotional weight of the scene.

The loss of not just one but two family members in the rescue attempt underscored the heartbreaking nature of the incident.

Meanwhile, the two-year-old child and her mother, who had also entered the pool in an attempt to rescue her, were rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, they were reportedly stable following the ordeal, providing a small glimmer of hope amidst the tragedy.
