Musks America PAC is focused on registering voters and pushing Americans to vote early and via mail in ballots in swing states
Elon Musk, the owner of social media platform X, has taken control of the @America handle and is using it to promote his support for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Musk, who recently attended Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania, linked the account to his pro-Trump super PAC, ‘America PAC’.

The @America account had been registered to another user since 2010 but was inactive for four years. Under X’s policy, inactive accounts may be reclaimed, although the platform does not clearly define what qualifies as “inactive.” Previously critical posts of both Musk and Trump made by the original user have been preserved under a new handle, @America123_12.

This move is reminiscent of last year when X, formerly known as Twitter, seized the @X handle during its rebranding under Musk’s ownership. The @America account bio now reflects Musk’s political stance, directing users to the page for more information on his reasons for backing Trump’s 2024 campaign.

Musk’s America PAC supports Republican candidates who advocate for secure borders, free speech, and self-protection policies. The PAC focuses on early voter registration and mail-in voting efforts in swing states. Supporters are being offered $47 for each registered voter they refer who signs a petition backing the First and Second Amendments.

On Monday, Musk attended an NFL game in Pittsburgh, where a video from his visit to the critical swing state was posted on the @America account. Backers of Musk’s super PAC reportedly include prominent investors such as Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale and the Winklevoss twins.

In addition to his public endorsement, Musk has provided financial support to the Republican Party, contributing $289,100 to the National Republican Congressional Committee in August, as confirmed by Federal Election Commission records.
