February 16, 2025 — Elon Musk has issued a brief public reaction to claims made by right-wing influencer Ashley St Clair, who recently revealed that Musk is the father of her newborn baby. In a single-word reply posted on his social media platform, X, Musk responded with “woah,” following St Clair’s announcement to her over one million followers.

St Clair shared the news on X, stating that she welcomed a baby into the world five months ago and confirmed that Musk is the father.
She explained that she had kept the information private to protect her child’s safety, but after tabloid media began pursuing the story, she felt compelled to speak out.
Along with her statement, St Clair used the phrase “Alea iacta est,” meaning “the die is cast,” signalling that the matter was now public.

Musk’s response came not directly from St Clair’s post but from a tweet by Milo Yiannopoulos. Yiannopoulos had shared a screenshot of a 2020 tweet by St Clair, joking about wanting a marriage proposal from Musk, which he used to suggest that St Clair had been plotting to ensnare Musk for years. Musk’s “woah” reply sparked further online discussions, which quickly escalated.

Following Musk’s comment, St Clair made a now-deleted post in which she expressed frustration that Musk had not responded to her directly despite ongoing attempts to communicate privately.
She also criticized Yiannopoulos for posting pictures of her from when she was 15 years old, which she described as an invasion of privacy. St Clair clarified that she had previously discussed the matter with Musk in a private conversation months ago.
Later, St Clair posted that she would take a break from social media to focus on her family, adding that she wished she hadn’t felt the need to address the issue publicly. “Kids should be off limits for journalists,” she wrote.
Musk, who has had multiple children with different partners, has previously made headlines for confirming the birth of his 12th child, a child with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis.
Musk has also dismissed claims that he tried to keep the birth of his children secret, stating that all friends and family were aware of the births. He mentioned in a recent statement that the failure to issue a formal press release does not equate to secrecy.
Despite the public response to the claim, Musk indicated he would take the weekend off from social media to focus on launching his new AI product, Grok 3.
