Former television host Eamonn Holmes, 64, was spotted at Barcelona airport alongside his new girlfriend, Katie Alexander, 42, as the couple prepared to embark on a Mediterranean cruise.
Despite heavy rain in the Spanish city, the pair appeared in high spirits as they navigated the terminal. Eamonn, who has ongoing back issues, used a mobility scooter while Katie pushed their luggage.
Katie, dressed stylishly in a striped cardigan, beige trousers, and Perspex heels, pointed out something in the distance to an attentive Eamonn, who followed close behind in a navy jacket over a white shirt. The couple flew to Barcelona from London Heathrow and were later assisted into a waiting vehicle to begin their vacation.
This romantic getaway comes just months after Eamonn’s split from his wife, Ruth Langsford, a host on “Loose Women.” The couple’s separation reportedly followed Ruth’s discovery of messages from another woman on a laptop. Friends of Ruth have expressed shock over Eamonn’s new relationship and the timing of his holiday with Katie.
Sources close to the situation have revealed that Katie has been telling friends she believes her relationship with Eamonn is serious and could be long-term. The couple’s closeness has reportedly surprised Ruth and her friends, particularly given Eamonn’s newfound energy and zest for life since meeting Katie.
Eamonn and Katie, a relationship counsellor, have already taken a trip together to Belfast. Wedding rumours were sparked when Katie was seen wearing a ring near Eamonn’s home in Kingston upon Thames, South West London.
Eamonn has faced significant health challenges in recent years, including a double hip replacement in 2016, back surgery last year, and a shoulder injury in January. His battle with chronic back pain has led to extensive physical therapy, including sessions in an anti-gravity chamber, as he works to regain mobility.
