Dublin Man in Critical Condition After Organ Failure During Slovakia Holiday

A Dublin man, Ciaran Bradley, is currently on life support in Slovakia following severe organ failures that occurred during a recent trip.

Bradley, 38, was visiting Slovakia with his partner to see her ailing father when his health drastically improved.

Bradley’s organs began to fail, with his pancreas and kidneys showing severe distress, among other complications. He has been battling arthritis since his teenage years and has been on heavy medication for over two decades. His father, Derek Tobin, suspects that the long-term use of these medications may have contributed to his current condition.

Upon arrival at the hospital, Bradley was placed on life support. The first 72 hours were critical, but he survived this period. However, his condition remains critical, and his family anticipates a lengthy recovery process.

Bradley’s family has mobilized to support him. His brother and sister have travelled to Slovakia to be beside him, while Derek Tobin has launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover the substantial medical expenses. The fundraiser has already garnered significant support, allowing Derek and his partner to plan their trip to Slovakia.

In his appeal, Derek Tobin wrote: “Ciaran is battling on life support in a Slovakian hospital after suffering multiple organ failures while visiting his girlfriend’s sick father. Diagnosed with arthritis at 16, Ciaran has been on heavy medication for most of his life, which seems to have taken a toll on his body.

“His pancreas has failed, and his kidneys are affected, among other organs. Although he has survived the critical initial 72 hours, the road to recovery is expected to be long. Ciaran’s brother and sister are with him now, but they will return next week, and my partner and I are scheduled to fly out on Friday, thanks to your generous donations. We must focus on Ciaran’s recovery and alleviate his stress.”

Bradley’s family continues to hope for his recovery as they navigate the challenges posed by his critical condition and the significant costs associated with his treatment.
