Former President Donald Trump’s planned visit to Gottlieb’s, a kosher deli in Brooklyn’s Hassidic Williamsburg, was cancelled following the sudden death of the deli’s owner, Shalom Yosef Gottlieb, who passed away from a heart attack at the age of 75. Gottlieb, who contracted pneumonia last week, succumbed to a heart attack earlier today.
Trump was scheduled to stop by the iconic deli, founded by Gottlieb’s father—a Holocaust survivor—before travelling to Washington, DC, to speak at a “Combating Antisemitism” event. Gottlieb’s son, Menashe, has been managing the deli in recent years.

The funeral for Gottlieb will be held at 172 Ross St. in Brooklyn at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Before the deli visit’s cancellation, Trump, 78, appeared at PubKey, a Bitcoin bar in New York City, and later held a campaign rally at Nassau Coliseum on Long Island.
