Donald Trump Vows to Abolish Sanctuary Cities Nationwide, Boost Law Enforcement in Non-Cooperative Regions at North Carolina Rally
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump pledged to eliminate sanctuary cities across the United States during a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Saturday.
Addressing a crowd of 10,000 at Aero Center Wilmington, Trump declared, “No more sanctuary cities.”
He vowed to deploy federal law enforcement to cities that refuse to turn over criminal aliens, stating, “We will hunt down, capture every single gang member, drug dealer, rapist, murderer, and migrant criminal that is being illegally harbored.”
This marked Trump’s first outdoor rally since an assassination attempt on his life was thwarted on September 15 while he was golfing in Florida. He assured the crowd, “We will get them out of North Carolina and we will send them home where they belong.”
Trump also called on Congress to pass legislation that would outlaw sanctuary cities nationwide, pledging to bring “the full weight of the federal government” against jurisdictions that do not cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol.
