Former President Donald Trump was captured holding a handwritten note during the closing arguments of his hush money trial, featuring a message he has repeatedly emphasized throughout the proceedings.

In the photo taken at Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday morning, Trump sits with his hands folded over at least two yellow sticky notes bearing thick black marker writing.

The legible portion of the note contained a phrase that Trump has frequently reiterated to reporters and on social media: “The judge should dismiss this case.”

However, the remainder of the note was obscured by his right hand.

An edited version of the photo, zoomed in on Trump and adjusted to make him appear more orange, circulated on Reddit, prompting various comments from users.

Some Reddit users questioned why Trump needed to write down the phrase he had repeated numerous times before, while others speculated on his level of attention during the trial.

During the trial, Trump’s lead lawyer, Todd Blanche, argued to the jury that Trump should not be convicted based on what he termed the “lies” of the key witness, his former personal lawyer Michael Cohen.

Blanche asserted that Trump was unaware of the $130,000 payment Cohen made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to silence her regarding an alleged sexual encounter, which lies at the core of the trial.

Blanche urged the jurors to reach a “swift and easy not guilty verdict,” emphasizing the prosecution’s lack of evidence. Following lunch, prosecutors are scheduled to present their closing arguments.
