David Tennant replaces Alison Hammond as Baftas 2024 host
Alison Hammond, the popular This Morning presenter, will not be hosting Baftas 2024, according to reports.
The 48-year-old TV personality, who also co-hosted the Great British Bake Off last year, is said to be ‘gutted’ by the decision.
Hammond made her debut as a Baftas host in 2023, alongside actor Richard E. Grant. She impressed viewers and celebrities with her humour and charm, but it seems that was not enough to secure her a spot for the next ceremony.
Instead, the Baftas have chosen Doctor Who star David Tennant to take over the role. The 52-year-old actor announced his excitement to host the prestigious event, which honours the best of British and international film.
A source close to Hammond claimed that she suffers from imposter syndrome and feels like she has to work harder to prove herself in the entertainment industry.
She is grateful for her current opportunities, but she is also aware of how cutthroat the TV world can be.
