Finance expert and radio host Dave Ramsey recently declared on his show that he will be voting for former President Donald Trump in the upcoming election, emphasizing his decision is based on key policy issues.

Ramsey, known for his financial advice and his nationally syndicated program The Ramsey Solution, made it clear that his support for Trump is rooted in his views on taxes, immigration, and other important topics.

“I’m looking at ideas and which idea lands on which side of the aisle,” Ramsey explained on his show.

He then detailed several policy areas he considers when voting, such as tax, immigration, foreign policy, and climate change. “So I’m going to tell you, I’m voting for Donald Trump. Because I checked those boxes, more are on that side than the other.”

Ramsey, 64, elaborated on his thought process by asking himself which candidate best aligns with his views on key issues. “Where am I most likely to get a tax policy that I like? Where am I most likely to get an immigration policy I like? Where am I most likely to get a foreign policy I like? Where am I most likely to get a gun policy I like? A climate change policy I like? A woke policy I like? That I agree with.”

He confidently stated that he could quickly and clearly make his decision between the two main candidates, concluding, “I’m voting for Donald Trump.”

Ramsey’s show reaches an estimated 18 million combined listeners weekly across multiple platforms, and he serves as the CEO of Ramsey Solutions. His program focuses on providing financial advice to Americans, often offering guidance to those struggling with debt or financial hardship.

Ramsey, who describes himself as fiscally conservative and Christian, has often expressed his belief in limited government involvement in the economy. He has criticized what he perceives as excessive government intervention and has suggested that presidents should minimize their role in economic affairs.

Aware of the potentially divisive nature of his political stance, Ramsey addressed the likelihood of backlash. “If you want to vote the other way, as long as you’re being thoughtful about it and you’re being a nice person, we’re still friends,” he said. Acknowledging that some listeners may abandon him due to his endorsement, he said, “Some of you are never gonna listen to me again after this. That’s okay, I can deal with that. That’s happened to me for 30 years.”

Ramsey also pointed out that it would be difficult for anyone to cancel him, saying, “That’s hard to do” because “I own the show. You can leave, but you can’t cancel me.”

Earlier this month, Ramsey conducted a comprehensive interview with Trump, covering a range of economic topics. He praised Trump’s approach to energy policy and revealed that he had offered an interview opportunity to Vice President Kamala Harris as well.

Despite his support for Trump, Ramsey has made it clear that he does not view either candidate as a financial savior, previously remarking that “Neither one of these people are going to be your savior” and that neither is “fiscally responsible.”

Ramsey’s financial success has contributed to an estimated net worth of between $150 million and $200 million.
