Cristiano Ronaldo shared his perspective on the Saudi Pro League, asserting it is “more competitive” than the often criticized French Ligue 1. At the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner stated, “To be honest, I think the Saudi championship isn’t worse than the French championship. I think it’s more competitive.”
Ronaldo, who made headlines by joining Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia last January, was a trailblazer in moving to the Gulf kingdom, a trend followed by other prominent players like Karim Benzema, Neymar, and Sadio Mane.
When questioned about the level of the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo emphasized, “They can say what they want; it’s just my opinion. I have played there for a year, so I know what I’m talking about. I think we are now better than the French chagmpionship and continue to improve.”
