Crime: Indian man beheads wife with sword over delayed brew

A man has been arrested in India for allegedly killing his wife, Sundari, with a sword and stabbing her to death because she took too long to make his cup of tea.

The suspect, named only as Dharamveer, reportedly attacked his wife with a sharp weapon after asking for his cuppa a second time. Sundari woke up around 6 am and began preparing her husband’s tea, but it wasn’t ready when he asked for it. After the argument, Dharamveer allegedly stabbed his wife 15 times with the sword before beheading her.

According to M10News, the couple’s four children were at home sleeping at the time, but their son Soldier heard his mum’s screams and rushed to the scene, where Dharamveer allegedly attacked him too. The investigation is ongoing.

In another incident, an older man in Washington, DC, allegedly stabbed his wife to death after refusing to eat pancakes that she cooked for him. Steven Schwartz, 85, pleaded not guilty to fatally stabbing his wife, Sharron Schwartz, 81, in their home. Steven said his wife tried to make him eat the pancakes and that he generally has an aversion to food.

He added that his wife did not deserve to die, and he wished he had instead. Steven said he loved his wife and prayed that the fatal stabbing was just a delusion.
