Conor McGregor is facing serious accusations after a woman filed a lawsuit on Tuesday, alleging that the mixed martial arts star sexually assaulted her in a private bathroom at the Kasaya Center following an NBA Finals game in June 2023.
The incident reportedly occurred on June 9, 2023, after the Miami Heat played against the Denver Nuggets. According to the woman, a 49-year-old Wall Street professional, security guards at the arena allegedly blocked her friend from entering the bathroom to assist her during the encounter.
This lawsuit is linked to the criminal sexual assault case that was initially filed against McGregor in June 2023. A police report was filed with the Miami Police Department just two days after the alleged assault, on June 11, 2023, at approximately 6 p.m. However, in October 2023, the Florida State Attorney’s Office decided not to proceed with criminal charges.

In response to the civil lawsuit, McGregor’s attorney, Barbara Llanes, told ESPN that after a comprehensive investigation, the State Attorney had concluded there was no case to pursue. She added, “Almost two years and at least three lawyers later, the plaintiff has a new false story. We are confident that this case, too, will be dismissed.”
McGregor has firmly denied the allegations.
The lawsuit, which targets McGregor and the Miami Heat, seeks medical treatment costs, compensatory damages, and other relief. The woman’s attorney, Jim Dunn, explained that his client pursued the civil case to raise awareness and encourage others to report sexual assault.
Dunn stated, “My client has long thought about the decision to pursue this civil case and fears its effect on her job on Wall Street. Nonetheless, her main goal in filing this suit is to raise awareness and encourage others to report sexual assault.”
Additionally, the lawsuit mentions a separate incident during the NBA Finals when McGregor allegedly punched the Miami Heat mascot, Burnie, twice.
The mascot was hospitalized following the incident, but arena staff reportedly knew about injuries, while the public was not informed.
This legal battle comes just two months after McGregor was found liable in a separate case involving an assault on Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel in 2018, for which a jury awarded Hand £200,000 in damages.
