Christine McGuinness is reportedly devastated upon discovering that her estranged husband, Paddy, is producing a BBC “mockumentary” centred around their divorce.

Paddy, the former Top Gear host, discreetly filmed a pilot for the spoof documentary “Paddy” last year, portraying his life as a comedian navigating a separation.

The news blindsided Christine, 35, who shares three children with Paddy. Their 11-year marriage broke down in 2022, and she is upset that the personal details of their divorce are being used for comedic content.

A close friend shared, “Christine is distraught that their divorce is going to be the butt of the jokes. She’s completely broken over the divorce, and we genuinely worry about her.”

Paddy failed to inform Christine about the pilot, and she discovered the project online. Despite her emotional turmoil, Christine has chosen to keep a low profile and remain silent for now, focusing on her work and the well-being of their children.

The friend said, “She will have her day, but not now. She’s working and trying to stay focused on the kids. The fact that she had to discover he was doing this online, like everyone else, has shattered her much more.”

Although divorce processes are ongoing, they have not yet reached the court. Comedian Josh Pugh, who plays a version of himself in the pilot, revealed that they filmed at an Airbnb that served as the McGuinness family’s home.

Pugh explained, “Paddy McGuinness is doing a spoof documentary of his life, and he is mentoring me as a stand-up in that documentary. It’s about his divorce. It was an extraordinary couple of days.”

A source close to Paddy clarified, “The mockumentary will be a heightened sense of reality and a funny take on his industry. The main focus is the stand-up circuit, not his divorce.”
