Chelsea Transfer Watch: Galatasaray Launch €75m Bid for Osimhen Amid Blues Interest

Chelsea have already added two strikers this summer — Liam Delap and Joao Pedro — but speculation continues to swirl around their long-term interest in Victor Osimhen.

Despite fresh arrivals at Stamford Bridge, the futures of Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson remain uncertain, potentially paving the way for another centre-forward signing before the transfer window closes.

Osimhen, who has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, was previously tipped for a switch to Chelsea.

However, a deal failed to materialise last year, and the Nigerian international instead joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a prolific spell in Turkey, netting 37 goals in 41 appearances to help Galatasaray secure a domestic double, winning both the Süper Lig and Turkish Cup.

He has now returned to Napoli following the end of his loan deal, but reports in Italy suggest the Serie A champions are preparing to sell him this summer.

According to CalcioMercato, Galatasaray are determined to make the striker’s move permanent and has already submitted a new offer to Napoli after their initial €60m (£51.6m) bid was rejected.

The Turkish club’s second offer is reportedly worth €75m (£64.6m), matching Osimhen’s release clause, though Galatasaray are hoping to avoid activating the clause by paying in five instalments.

This approach would allow Napoli to receive the full fee without forcing Galatasaray to pay it in one lump sum, a tactic that could make the deal more appealing for the Turkish giants’ finances.

While Chelsea’s interest hasn’t been formally revived this window, developments over the coming weeks could shift attention back to the Premier League if Galatasaray fail to agree terms with Napoli.
