David Beckham is celebrating his 50th birthday this week, surrounded by his closest family members, marking the milestone with joy and reflection on a life filled with personal and professional success.
Despite previously downplaying the significance of turning 50, sources close to the former football star say he is “as happy as he’s ever been.” With an estimated net worth of £350 million, Beckham credits his family and years of hard work as his greatest accomplishments.

“David is feeling good about turning 50. His family and his work are his biggest achievements in life,” a source told Metro. “The hard work he’s always put in over the years is paying off.”

Beckham, who rose to fame with Manchester United and later married Victoria Adams, also known as Posh Spice, is now the proud father of four children — Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13. Watching his children flourish in their paths has brought him “boundless elation,” the source said.
Although Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz reportedly missed early birthday celebrations last month, insiders insist Beckham remains happiest when surrounded by his children.
The Beckham family’s life and challenges have been in the public eye for decades, including through the 2023 Netflix documentary Beckham, which chronicled the couple’s relationship, their move to Spain in 2003, and their life in the spotlight.
Victoria is now set to be the focus of her own documentary series, produced by Beckham’s Studio 99, exploring her fashion and beauty empire.
Professionally, Beckham continues to thrive. His U.S. soccer team, Inter Miami CF, is gaining momentum, and he recently launched major campaigns, including a Bodywear line with Hugo Boss and a comedic series with actor Matt Damon for Stella Artois.
“Now more than ever he wants to spend time doing what matters to him – being with his family, continuing to build his businesses, and charity work,” the insider added.

This year also marks two decades since Beckham became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, a role he remains deeply committed to.
He was honoured with the Crystal Award at the World Economic Forum and recently launched a UNICEF fundraising appeal to support vulnerable children globally.
“As he turns 50, he wants to continue to focus on advocating for young women and girls to have equal rights,” the source said.
Speculation is also mounting that Beckham may receive a knighthood this year. Reports suggest King Charles is a strong admirer of the football legend, who has “ticked every box” for the honour.
The two have reportedly developed a friendship, with Beckham even gifting the King a jar of his homemade honey, “DBee’z Sticky Stuff,” at the 2023 British Fashion Awards.
“Wouldn’t it be wonderful if it happened this year as David turns 50?” a close friend of the star told MailOnline.
