Surveillance footage from 2016 has surfaced, showing Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs physically assaulting his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.
The video obtained by CNN shows the 54-year-old rapper kicking, dragging, and throwing an object at Ventura.
This revelation comes months after Combs faced accusations of raping and physically abusing Ventura over a decade. The lawsuit, filed in November, includes severe allegations such as beating, drugging, and coercing Ventura into sexual acts with male prostitutes while Combs filmed.
Ventura, who was 19 when she met Combs, alleges she was raped in her home when attempting to leave him and endured over a decade of violent behaviour and disturbing demands. She later stated, “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms I have some control over. I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support.”
The newly released footage shows Combs physically assaulting Ventura in a hotel, grabbing, shoving, dragging, and kicking her. The incident occurred at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, on March 5, 2016.
In the video, Ventura leaves a hotel room and heads towards the elevators, followed by Combs in a towel. He then grabs her, throws her to the floor, kicks her, and takes her purse and bag before kicking her again as she lies on the floor. Combs is seen dragging Ventura by her sweatshirt back towards their hotel room.
Ventura later returns to the elevator area, picks up a hotel phone, and is followed by Combs, who shoves her into a corner and throws an object at her. The lawsuit mentions this incident, claiming Combs was”extremely intoxicated”, punched Ventura in the face, and threw a glass vase at her.
The lawsuit also alleges Combs was highly controlling, overseeing Ventura’s career and personal details, including medical records. Ventura claimed she had an MRI scan for memory loss possibly caused by a beating from Combs, with the results sent directly to him. Ventura’s lawsuit seeks justice for a decade of abuse, including threats of violence, drug use, physical and psychological abuse, and sexual slavery. She has required intensive medical and psychological care to recover from the trauma. Combs’’ lawyer denied the allegations, calling them offensive and outrageous. He claimed Ventura demanded $30 million under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which he rejected as blackmail. According to CBS’s lawyer, Ventura filed a lawsuit with baseless lies despite withdrawing her initial threat.
In response, Ventura’ss lawyer stated that Combs offered Ventura eight figures to silence her and prevent the lawsuit. Ventura rejected the offer to give a voice to women suffering in silence. Her lawyer praised her bravery and resilience.
Following Ventura’s initial lawsuit, additional allegations against Combs surfaced. One lawsuit accused him of drugging and raping a college student, followed by sharing a”revenge por”-style video. Another lawsuit accused him of rape and assault, alleging he choked a woman until she passed out. A fourth lawsuit accused him of gang-raping a 17-year-old girl. Combs’’ representatives have consistently denied all sexual assault allegations.
