Cardiff Man Stabbed in Broad Daylight, Police Launch Manhunt for Suspect

A significant police presence has been established in Llanrumney, Cardiff, following a stabbing incident earlier today, Wednesday, September 4. South Wales Police were alerted to reports of a fight in the area of Glastonbury Terrace just before lunchtime.

Authorities confirmed that a man had been stabbed during the altercation and was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment. In response to the incident, a search is ongoing for the suspect, with increased officers patrolling the area.

As a precaution, several primary schools in the vicinity enacted lockdown procedures. Cardiff Council emphasised that the incident was not directly related to any schools. In a statement, a spokesperson for the council reassured the community:

“Following reports of a police incident in Llanrumney this morning, local schools in the vicinity invoked lockdown procedures. The incident was not connected to the schools, and the lockdown procedures were implemented as a precaution. The schools have issued messages through their official channels, reassuring parents that the children and staff are all safe.”

South Wales Police also stated: “At around 11:50 a.m. this morning, officers from South Wales Police were called to a report of a fight in Glastonbury Terrace, Llanrumney. One man has been stabbed and taken to hospital. Searches are continuing for the suspect, and there will be an increased police presence there.”

This afternoon, a large police cordon remains in place around a block of flats on Glastonbury Terrace as the investigation continues.
