London, UK – Former GB News presenter Calvin Robinson has been removed from his church after making a gesture likened to a Nazi salute at a pro-life summit in Washington, D.C. last week.
The Anglican Catholic Church (ACC), where Robinson served as a priest, condemned his actions, stating that such behavior is “incompatible with a priestly vocation.”
His license has been revoked, and he is no longer a priest within the denomination.
Robinson, known for his anti-woke activism, appeared on stage at the National Pro-Life Summit and concluded his speech by quoting Elon Musk: “My heart goes out to you.”
He then placed his hand on his heart and extended his arm outward, mimicking a gesture made by Musk days earlier at a Donald Trump rally.
The move was met with cheers and applause from the audience but sparked widespread backlash, with critics drawing comparisons to the Nazi salute (“sieg heil”) associated with Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust, where six million Jews were murdered.
The Anglican Catholic Church issued a strongly worded statement, denouncing Nazi ideology and antisemitism in all forms.
“We believe that those who mimic the Nazi salute, even as a joke or an attempt to troll their opponents, trivialize the horror of the Holocaust and diminish the sacrifice of those who fought against its perpetrators.”
The church described Robinson’s actions as “harmful, divisive, and contrary to the tenets of Christian charity.”
As a result, the ACC confirmed:
“Robinson’s license in this Church has been revoked. He is no longer serving as a priest in the ACC.”
In response to the controversy, Robinson denied any Nazi affiliation, insisting the gesture was a joke aimed at mocking liberal critics of Musk.
“I gave a talk at a pro-life event that seemed to go down well. I am pleased to have contributed to what I believe to be the most important of causes. The enemy hates that, of course, and the attacks have been plentiful.”
He argued that “context is key” and that critics were “seeing what they want to see” to fuel their own prejudices.

Robinson was originally ordained in 2023 by the Free Church of England but later joined the Anglican Catholic Church after facing rejection from the Church of England over his political views and social media activity.
Beyond his religious role, he built a media career as a right-wing commentator, notably hosting on GB News before being sacked in 2023 for supporting fellow presenter Laurence Fox.
Fox was dismissed after making misogynistic comments about a female journalist on Dan Wootton’s show.
Wootton himself was later removed from GB News amid controversy.
Both Fox and Wootton have publicly defended Robinson, criticizing the Anglican Catholic Church for expelling him.
Fox stated:
“His bishop should protect him. Not throw him to the wolves. May God be his judge. Not you. Or I.”
Meanwhile, Wootton drew a comparison between Robinson’s experience and religious persecution, saying:
“Like Jesus Christ himself, the persecution of Father Calvin Robinson for being a man of God is unrelenting, with even his own church now expelling him.”
Robinson’s removal from the church has sparked debate within religious and political circles, with some seeing it as a justified response to offensive behavior, while others argue it is an example of cancel culture.
As controversy surrounding the gesture and its interpretation continues, Robinson remains defiant, vowing to continue his activism despite the church’s decision.
