Brittany Mahomes, the wife of NFL star Patrick Mahomes, has a message for her critics: “Keep shining and being you.”
The 28-year-old entrepreneur and mother of two recently debuted as a rookie model for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, joining a diverse group of women who “empower, inspire and use their platforms to be both seen and heard,” according to the magazine.
Brittany shared a sneak peek of her stunning photoshoot in Belize on her Instagram account, where she received primarily positive feedback from her fans and followers. However, she also faced backlash from haters who questioned her qualifications and achievements.
“I’m here to tell you. People will dislike you. People will love you,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “Don’t let any of that define you. KEEP SHINING and being YOU.
Brittany is no stranger to online negativity, as she often defends herself and her family from trolls and critics. She has been vocal about her support for her husband, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, and her brother-in-law, Jackson Mahomes, who was accused of sexual assault last year but later had his charges dropped.
Brittany is also a former soccer player and the owner of the Kansas City Current, a professional women’s soccer team that plays in a stadium dedicated to women’s sports. She told SI Swimsuit that she never expected to be featured in the iconic magazine but was grateful for the opportunity.
“I never in my wildest dreams thought this would happen,” she said. “I want people to know that they can accomplish anything.” ¹
Brittany Mahomes is one of the many inspiring women who will grace the pages of the 60th-anniversary issue of SI Swimsuit, which will hit the stands later this year.
