British Woman Faces Death by Stoning After Allegedly Forced to Marry Pakistani Uncle

A British woman in her thirties could face a death sentence by stoning after being allegedly coerced into marrying her Pakistani uncle and having his child as part of an immigration scheme. According to ‘MailOnline’, the woman, a former company director, married her uncle during a visit to Pakistan in April 2021.

Following the wedding, she moved into her husband’s home, where she claims he began having sexual relations with her, resulting in her pregnancy. A police report in Pakistan alleges that the woman willingly married her uncle and conceived their child to assist him in gaining entry to the UK.

However, the woman contends in a now-deleted video that she was pressured to travel to Pakistan for the marriage to help her uncle secure the necessary documentation.

In the video, she stated, “He told me that I would help him in his travel to England, and in return, he will get a car, home, and a lot of money, and our life would be settled. Now he is not bothering about his baby and me. He has tarnished my life and I need help.”

The couple has been accused of adultery, which is punishable under Sharia law by lashing or death by stoning. According to reports, the uncle confessed to marrying his niece in front of local elders and Islamic clerics after neighbours alerted religious authorities about their relationship. The police report notes, “The matter behind the whole episode was just to get entry into the United Kingdom through the British Pakistani bride.”

It further states that the marriage between a maternal uncle and his niece is impermissible under Sharia law, categorizing their relationship as adultery. Following the allegations, the uncle reportedly went into hiding in Pakistan but was arrested this week along with a witness to the marriage.
