A British woman has died and her husband is in a critical condition after a car ploughed into a bakery on the Greek island of Kos.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon in the seaside resort of Tigaki, a popular tourist destination.
The couple were reportedly sitting at a table outside the bakery when the SUV veered off the road and smashed into the storefront.
Local media reports suggest the driver lost control of the vehicle while attempting to reach the bakery.

Authorities said all three individuals – the driver and the two tourists – were taken to the hospital for treatment shortly after the crash.
Despite efforts to save her, the woman died from her injuries at the hospital, while her husband remains in critical condition.

The driver is believed to have sustained only minor injuries and is now part of an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
Footage from the scene shows the bakery’s front shattered, with glass and debris from damaged shelves scattered across the floor.
