British Airways suspended two crew members following their involvement in derogatory remarks about a colleague’s colleague, according to an inside source who spoke with The Sun; the incident has been described as “repugnant “bullying.”
The two crew members allegedly ridiculed the unidentified 210-pound air hostess in a WhatsApp group chat she was unaware of. A concerned coworker brought these hurtful comments to the victim’s attention, leaving her devastated and fearful of returning to work.
“The poor victim of the merciless fat jokes has been left utterly bereft,” the source revealed. “She had no idea her colleagues had such disdain for her.” The cruel remarks left the woman scared to leave her house, feeling profoundly victimized.

The concerned colleague reported the incident to BA management, leading to the suspension of the responsible crew members and an ongoing investigation. British Airways has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards bullying and is committed to thoroughly investigating any allegations.
“We have a zero-tolerance approach to bullying and always fully investigate any allegations brought to our attention,” stated airline representatives. The suspended crew members could face permanent dismissal if found guilty, while five other members of the WhatsApp group are also under scrutiny.
British Airways’ guidelines require crew members to be able to reach at least 6ft7 inches to perform essential duties, such as opening aircraft doors and reaching overhead bins. Although no maximum weight limit is specified, employees must be able to carry out all necessary tasks.
This incident highlights the importance of maintaining a respectful and supportive workplace environment, with British Airways taking decisive action to address and prevent bullying among its staff.
