Brian O’Driscoll and Amy Huberman were filled with pride as their children, Billy and Sadie, acted as mascots for the Irish rugby team on Sunday. The siblings, aged eight and ten, were dressed in green jerseys and held hands with the players as they walked out of the tunnel at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
The occasion was even more special as it marked the first time the kids of the former Ireland captain and the actress were seen in public. Brian and Amy, who also have a three-year-old son, Ted, are known for keeping their family life private and rarely share photos of their children on social media.
The married couple, who got married in 2010, were present in the stands to witness Ireland’s victory over Italy by 48-10 in the Six Nations tournament. Brian, who retired from rugby in 2014, is a sports analyst for Virgin Media Sport and ITV. Meanwhile, Amy is a well-known author and plays a lead role in the comedy series “Finding Joy.”
It wasn’t just the pair who attended the event, but also some famous personalities. President Michael D. Higgins, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, and singer Bono were present, with Bono even singing the national anthem before the match began. Stevie Mulrooney, the eight-year-old boy who impressed viewers with his rendition of Ireland’s Call on the Late Late Toy Show last year, was also a star of the show.
He performed the song again before a sold-out crowd of 51,000 fans at the Aviva.
