Campina Grande, Brazil, 4 January 2025—Former Brazilian football star Hulk has married Camila Angelo, his ex-wife’s niece, in a lavish ceremony in his hometown of Campina Grande.
The 38-year-old footballer, best known for his powerful forward play, looked sharp in a brown suit while his bride stunned in a sparkling white dress. The couple exchanged vows in the beautifully decorated Diocesan Cathedral of Our Lady of the Conception, surrounded by roses, chandeliers, and art.
Hulk shared the joyous occasion with fans on Instagram, posting photos of the couple walking down the aisle and sharing a kiss.
He wrote, “Before God and the promises of our love, we unite in one heart, beginning our eternity together. Life! I love you.”
The couple will host a second celebration on Tuesday at a luxury resort. Fifty people will be involved, including chefs, floral designers, and sound technicians.
Family Drama
The wedding has sparked controversy within the family. Hulk’s ex-wife, Iran Angelo de Souza, who was married to him for 12 years and shares three children with him, parted ways with the footballer in 2019.
The relationship between Hulk and Camila Angelo, his ex-wife’s niece, began shortly after the split, leading to tension within the family. The couple had a brief legal wedding in 2020 to facilitate Camila’s visa for China, where Hulk was playing.
Rayassa Angelo, Hulk’s former sister-in-law, posted on Instagram to express her dismay over the union. She wrote, “It is sad that Judas is not only in ancient stories. Sometimes, he sleeps under the same roof, eats at the same table, and, at the right moment, stabs himself in the back.”
Hulk’s Career
Hulk has represented Brazil 49 times and has enjoyed a successful career with clubs such as Porto, Zenit Saint Petersburg, and Shanghai SIPG. He currently plays for Atletico Mineiro in his native Brazil.
The controversy surrounding his relationship has added complexity to the celebrations, but the couple appears to be moving forward with their love and new life together.
