A Brazilian bodybuilder and influencer who was born with only one kidney has passed away at the age of 34 while waiting for a kidney transplant. Cristhian Annes, also known as Hans Christian Dyck Annes, had joined the transplant waiting list in Paraná, Brazil, in December 2020 but was 69 people ahead of him.
Annes discovered his kidney problem in 2022 when he took a routine blood test with his girlfriend, who has a phobia of needles. He found out that his blood had high levels of creatinine and urea, indicating kidney malfunction. He initially refused to undergo treatment but later sought medical help after his coach persuaded him.
However, his condition worsened, and he was admitted to the hospital on January 20, 2024, still hoping for a new organ. He died on February 5, 2024, leaving behind his girlfriend, Wanna Teixeira and thousands of followers on Instagram, where he posted pictures of his muscular physique and his clients’s transformations.

Annes was a personal trainer, a bodybuilding coach, a sports nutritionist, a bodybuilding competitor, and a model. He loved sports and continued to train despite his doctors’ advice. He was buried in Ponta Grossa, where he worked in gyms.
According to the state authorities, there were 2,011 people on the kidney transplant waiting list in Paraná in December 2020. Annes had moved up the queue in January 2024 and was expected to receive a kidney within a few weeks, but it was too late for him.
His death has raised awareness of the plight of kidney patients and the need for more organ donors in Brazil and around the world.
