A recent incident involving a Boeing 737 flight has gained attention after passengers witnessed a terrifying sight mid-air.

The Houston-bound Southwest Airlines flight, numbered as Flight 3695, departed from Denver International Airport in Colorado at approximately 7:45 am, only to make a quick turnaround just 30 minutes later.

Passengers aboard the flight were alarmed when they observed the engine’s metal cover tearing open during takeoff and flight, resembling the opening of a tin can lid.

Social media footage captured the dramatic moments as pieces of the engine cover peeled off, causing a significant disturbance among the 150 passengers and crew members.

According to witness Lisa, the sudden event felt like a “bomb jolt” as the engine cover blew off. The crew swiftly responded, and the pilot decided to return to Denver for safety reasons.

The aircraft, after flying over Denver and Strasburg, landed back at Denver International Airport.

Passenger Cooper Glass recounted how passengers in the exit row urgently notified flight attendants to inspect the damage. Despite the tense situation, the pilots executed a successful landing, earning praise from Glass for their professionalism.

Following the incident, the Southwest Airlines flight was towed to the gate, and passengers were accommodated on another aircraft to continue their journey to Houston’s William P Hobby Airport, albeit with a delay. The original departure time of Flight 3695 at 7:40 am was pushed to 10:54 am due to the unforeseen circumstances.

Southwest Airlines addressed the situation as a mechanical issue, prioritizing the safety of passengers and crew members. They assured that their maintenance teams are conducting a thorough review of the aircraft.

Federal aviation authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, emphasizing the importance of ensuring aviation safety standards.
