The search for a man missing from Balbriggan, Co. Dublin, has been called off following the discovery of a body.
Olamide Adekunle, 32, was the subject of a public appeal after he was last seen on Wednesday, September 11th.
He may have travelled from the Drogheda area by taxi to Gormanston, Co. Meath, where he was last seen at approximately 8:40 p.m. on the same evening.
Adekunle’s family had expressed deep concern for his well-being, prompting a widespread search effort.

Earlier today, a body was discovered in Co. Meath, leading Gardaí to stand down the missing person appeal. In a statement, a Garda spokesperson confirmed the development, saying, “Following the discovery of a body earlier today in Co. Meath, the missing person appeal in respect of 32-year-old Olamide Adekunle, who was reported missing from Balbriggan, Co. Dublin, since Wednesday 11th September 2024, has been stood down.”
The Gardaí also extended their gratitude to the public and media for their assistance during the search.
