President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are slated to engage in two debates following verbal exchanges.

Biden and Trump swiftly agreed to the debates after Biden announced his decision not to participate in presidential debates sponsored by a nonpartisan commission in the fall, a tradition that had lasted over 30 years.

In a video announcement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Biden asserted, “Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020. Since then, he hasn’t shown up for a discussion.

Now he’s acting like he wants to debate me again.” Biden further expressed his willingness to engage in debates, quipping, “I’ll even do it twice,” and referring to Trump’s availability on Wednesdays, a day coinciding with Trump’s ongoing hush money trial.

In response, Trump criticized Biden’s debating skills, stating, “Biden is the WORST debater I have ever faced—He can’t put two sentences together!”

The first debate, scheduled for June 27, will be hosted by CNN, while the second is set for September 10 and will be hosted by ABC. Biden’s campaign advocated for news outlets to arrange the debates directly with the presumptive Democratic and Republican nominees.

Trump, via his Truth Social platform, expressed his readiness to debate his successor, stating, “Ready and Willing to Debate.” Upon accepting CNN’s invitation, Biden challenged Trump with the statement, “Over to you, Donald. As you said: anywhere, any time, any place.”

In response, Trump posted, “Let’s get ready to Rumble!!!” Biden continued to taunt Trump, referencing the former president’s private jet, Trump Force One, by stating, “Trump says he’ll arrange his transportation… I’ll bring my plane, too. I plan on keeping it for another four years.”

The first debate is scheduled to take place at CNN’s studios in Atlanta without an audience, a decision opposed by Trump, who advocated for a larger venue with a crowd.

Trump remarked, “I would strongly recommend more than two debates and, for excitement purposes, a huge venue, although Biden is supposedly afraid of crowds. That’s only because he doesn’t get them.”
