President Biden and Pelosi haven’t spoken since he withdrew from the 2024 presidential race, the former House Speaker revealed in an interview Monday.

On CNN, Pelosi (D-Calif.) acknowledged that she hasn’t talked to Biden, 81, since he ended his reelection campaign over two weeks ago.

Their last conversation was before Biden announced on July 21 that he was no longer seeking a second term.

“I was asking for a campaign that would win,” Pelosi recounted their conversation on CBS News Sunday. “And I wasn’t seeing that on the horizon.”

She has denied leading the Democratic push for Biden to drop out of the race.

When asked on CNN if everything was “OK” with their relationship, Pelosi did not give a direct answer.

“You’d have to ask him, but I hope so,” Pelosi said. “Look, I love Joe Biden, respected him for over 40 years.”

Sources previously told CNN and Politico that Pelosi warned Biden that his polling against Donald Trump indicated that he couldn’t win in November. During their tough conversation, Biden reportedly pushed back and was “seething” at Pelosi.

Pelosi has tried to distance herself from claims that she led the effort to push Biden out, instead praising his legacy as president.

She also commended Vice President Kamala Harris, who took over for Biden on the Democratic ticket, calling the former prosecutor “very politically astute”, as demonstrated by her win in a competitive primary for California’s attorney general.
