Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont has thrown his support behind President Joe Biden as the Democratic Party’s nominee for the 2024 election amidst mounting calls for Biden to reconsider his candidacy following a controversial debate performance.
In a guest essay published in The New York Times, Sanders, a prominent figure on the far left of the Democratic spectrum and a former primary opponent of Biden in 2020, made a vigorous case for backing the incumbent president.
Despite acknowledging disagreements with Biden on specific policy issues, Sanders underscored Biden’s effectiveness as president and his potential to defeat former President Donald Trump in a rematch.
“I will do all that I can to see that President Biden is re-elected,” Sanders declared, emphasizing Biden’s accomplishments and leadership qualities despite policy differences.

“This election offers a stark choice on issue after issue,” Sanders asserted, concluding with a passionate call for Biden to rally working families and secure victory in the upcoming election for the sake of future generations.
