Jay Blades, well-known BBC presenter of *The Repair Shop*, has been charged with engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour toward his estranged wife, Lisa Zbozen.
West Mercia Police confirmed that Blades, 54, appeared in Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning, where he faced one count of engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate or family relationship. The charge relates to allegations of both physical and emotional abuse.
Blades was granted bail and is expected to appear at Worcester Crown Court on Friday, October 11, for further proceedings.
Zbozen had publicly announced her separation from Blades earlier this year through an Instagram post, just 18 months after the couple’s wedding. The case has attracted significant attention due to Blades’ high-profile role as a beloved TV personality.
