A video shared online has captured a disturbing encounter between a couple of American tourists and a horse and carriage driver in Dublin.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, following the St Patrick’s Day celebrations in the Irish capital.
In the footage, the tourists stand by a wall, visibly frightened, as the driver raises a considerable whip and yells at them. The driver demands that they pay for the ride, shouting, “Pay now, pay into my f****** bank account.”
Despite the tourists offering to pay $100 extra, the driver responds with verbal abuse, using profanity to retaliate.
One of the tourists apologizes and says, “I’m sorry. We’ve learned our lesson. Thank you,” but it remains unclear whether the tourists paid for the ride.

The video quickly gained traction on social media, with reactions pouring in.
Commenting on the incident, Crystal Clark supported the driver, stating, “Served them right.” Marian Durkin humorously added, “It is money well spent. They did get full Irish experience.”
However, some social media users, like M.J.H., suggested that the tourists may have been overcharged, hinting at the possibility of a scam.
This incident occurred during the festive atmosphere of St Patrick’s Day when Dublin was flooded with both locals and international visitors.
The city turned green for the occasion, and an estimated 500,000 people, including tourists, gathered to witness the colourful and vibrant parade, which featured performances in front of President Michael D Higgins. The celebration was filled withtraditional Irishl music, marching bands, and street entertainment, making it a global affair.
