Donald Trump joked about divorce while attending his friends’ lavish Mar-a-Lago wedding celebration, according to an exclusive source from Page Six.
Last Friday, the former president graced Jarod and Alexa Malik’s rehearsal dinner at his opulent Palm Beach, Fla., estate.
“This is a great couple,” Trump, 77, gushed to guests at the start of the wedding festivities. “Nobody gets divorced ever when they get married at Mar-a-Lago. People, 20 years later, say it’s the greatest marriage ever.”
The businessman, who wed Melania Trump at Mar-a-Lago in 2005, posed for photos with the newlyweds and partook in their afterparty.
Guests cheered Trump’s name with delight following his speech.
The following day, the bride and groom exchanged vows at the sprawling property with notable figures such as music executive Russell Simmons, boxing promoter Don King, actor Gianni Russo, and Haute Living CEO Kamal Hotchandani.
The couple, who met at the University of Miami, collaborated with renowned wedding planner Carrie Zack to organize the black-tie reception adorned with white florals, crystal décor, and gold accents.
Alexa dazzled in a custom Maria Farbinni strapless gown with a matching overskirt and lace gloves from Miami’s LBR Bridal store, complemented by white crystal and satin Rene Caovilla shoes ($1,660). She also wore a family heirloom necklace passed down by her mother-in-law, Nancy Malnick.
Jarod donned a dark navy suit crafted from Marzoni Italian fabric tailored by clothier Chris Garabedian.
Their dogs served as adorable “flower girls” during the ceremony.
The newlyweds celebrated with a grand reception featuring tunes spun by DJ Slim of Rock With U and a menu featuring beef Wellington and other delicacies.
Alexa opted for a J’Aton Couture dress from Chernaya Bridal House for the wedding afterparty.
The three-day celebration concluded with a farewell brunch hosted by the Malnik family.
Jarod and Alexa are set to have a mini-moon at Mar-a-Lago before embarking on their official honeymoon in May, which includes stays at the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, Calif., and the opulent Amangiri Resort in Utah, previously visited by Kourtney Kardashian.
