A 26-year-old British backpacker, Lorcán had ventured to Australia with friends, making Sydney his home since November to relish the summer season and embark on thrilling escapades.
Lorcán’s absence became apparent when he failed to return home post a night out clubbing with friends, the festivities stretching into the early hours of Sunday morning.
As the day progressed, worry escalated, eventually leading to his reported disappearance, culminating tragically in the discovery of his body near Barangaroo’s central area the subsequent day.


In a poignant tribute on Facebook, Lorcán’s sister, Caitlin, fondly reminisced about his infectious laughter, expressing deep sorrow at his untimely passing. She extended heartfelt sympathies to his girlfriend, Shona, and their cousins in Australia, recognizing their strength amidst this ordeal.
Caitlin also reflected on the family’s prior loss of their brother, Peárce, in 2018, underscoring the profound bond between Peárce and Lorcán.
The family had already endured the heartache of Peárce’s passing, making Lorcán’s sudden departure all the more devastating.
