A Brazilian teenage girl has admitted to assisting her boyfriend in killing her mother to prevent the couple from living together.
The 13-year-old girl’s motive? Her mother disapproves of the couple’s plan to move in together.
According to police reports, the tragic incident occurred on March 1 during a heated argument. The young girl held her mother down while her boyfriend proceeded to stab her multiple times in the head, neck, and chest. The victim, Flavia dos Santos Carneiro, suffered more than 20 stab wounds in the horrific attack.
She had been stabbed more than 20 times.
To cover up their crime, the teenage girl sent misleading WhatsApp messages to her mother’s work colleagues, claiming that her mother was unwell and would not be able to come to work. After the murder, they wrapped the victim’s body in a blanket and stuffed it into a refrigerator.
The chilling discovery was made four days later when a van driver, hired by the alleged killer’s father, was tasked with disposing of the refrigerator in the woods under the guise of discarding old appliances. Upon finding the body, the driver immediately alerted the authorities.
Police Chief Thiago Prado revealed disturbing details of the confession, stating that the boyfriend admitted to the murder and described how the victim’s daughter assisted in holding her down during the attack. Despite initially claiming self-defence, the boyfriend’s story unravelled due to the severity of the victim’s injuries.
Both the teenage girl and her boyfriend have been taken into custody, although the police have not publicly disclosed their identities. Additionally, the boyfriend’s father, aged 47, has been arrested for aiding the couple in concealing the body.
Authorities describe the boyfriend as a drug user who had been banned from the victim’s home. The fatal altercation reportedly began when the victim’s daughter revealed her intention to move out and live with her boyfriend, leading to a violent confrontation that ended in tragedy.
The lack of remorse displayed by the perpetrators during their confessions has stunned investigators. Despite the heinous nature of their actions, neither the daughter nor her boyfriend showed any signs of regret or sorrow.
As the investigation unfolds, the community grapples with the horrifying reality of a teenage girl’s involvement in her mother’s murder, raising questions about the underlying factors that led to such a tragic outcome.
