Prince Harry faced restrictions when he attempted to spend time with his father, King Charles, following the monarch’s cancer diagnosis.
According to sources, Harry desired to join his father at Sandringham for ‘a few days’ but was limited to a brief meeting at Clarence House, lasting only 30 minutes.

The decision was reportedly made out of concern that allowing Harry to go to Sandringham would result in an extended stay. These developments come amidst speculation about Harry’s potential return to royal duties while Charles undergoes cancer treatment.
Buckingham Palace Rules Out Prince Harry’s Return to Royal Life During Charles’s Illness
Despite reports suggesting Prince Harry’s willingness to rejoin royal duties temporarily, Buckingham Palace insiders have confirmed that such a scenario has been ruled out.
The terms that were established during the Sandringham summit before the departure of Harry and Meghan as senior royals, which rejected a “half in, half out” approach, remain the same. Palace sources have emphasized that this position has not been altered by the King’s illness, which reinforces that a hybrid working royal model is not considered suitable.
Prince Harry’s Current Role and Relationship with King Charles
Prince Harry, who relinquished his working royal status in 2020 alongside his wife Meghan, holds the position of counsellor of state but is not expected to assume any of the King’s duties during his recovery. Despite this, Harry recently visited Clarence House from his California home to spend time with his father after the diagnosis.
Reports indicate that their interactions were positive, with Charles expressing a desire for reconciliation and a closer relationship with his son, believing it would be beneficial for the monarchy.
