The average price for return flights from the UK to Menorca has risen dramatically from £178 in 2020 to £291, marking a 63% increase.
Trips to Barcelona have become more expensive with a significant hike of around 30%, rising from £143 to £187 as per the findings by The Mirror and flight comparison website Hopper. Spain as a whole has experienced notable price increases, with destinations like Malaga witnessing a 28% rise to £246 from £129 and Ibiza Town showing an increase of 17% to £213 from £182.
Popular destinations in Greece, including Athens and Mykonos, have seen an increase in prices. Trips to Athens now cost £xxx, while Mykonos and Ibiza have seen a price surge of 22% and 23%, respectively. The average price of a trip to Ibiza is now £223, and the average cost to Mykonos is £340.
Portugal hasn’t been spared either, with destinations like Faro and Porto experiencing price hikes to £234 and £182, up from £196 and £155 previously.
Amid soaring prices, some destinations have become more affordable. Funchal, Portugal, is now 20% cheaper at £207 (down from £259), while Lesbos and Souda in Greece have experienced dips of 13%.
Similarly, Tenerife has become more budget-friendly in Spain, dropping to £296 from £339—a fall of 13%.
