Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have unveiled a new website featuring their royal coat of arms and titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The website Sussex.com replaces their previous Archewell site and showcases their biographies, non-profit organisation, the Archewell Foundation, and production company, Archewell Productions.
The couple, who stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and moved to California, had agreed not to use their HRH titles in their commercial ventures. However, they retained their Duke and Duchess titles, which are part of their family name.
A source close to Harry and Meghan said: “Prince Harry and Meghan are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. That is a fact. It is their surname and family name.” ¹
However, some royal commentators have accused the couple of cashing in on their royal connections and breaking their promise to the Queen. Angela Levin, a biographer of Harry, said: “They are cashing in on their royal connections that they say they hate so much. Queen Elizabeth II would be furious because they promised they wouldn’t do that. They should be stopped from using a title they insulted for years.
Amidst all the challenges the royal family has been facing lately, there is some good news! A new website has been launched, which is a cause for celebration. Although King Charles is currently battling cancer and Kate Middleton is recovering from abdominal surgery, it’s fantastic to see the family still pushing through. Prince Harry also visited the UK last week to see his father; we hope it was a positive visit. Even though he did not meet with his brother, Prince William, we’re sure things will work out for the best. Let’s focus on the positive and support the royal family during this time!
The couple’s new website aims to reconnect with their supporters, especially in the UK, where their popularity has declined since leaving the royal family.
