U.S. President Donald Trump has reignited controversy surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein case, using his Truth Social platform to accuse Democrats of withholding key evidence.
In a post on Monday evening, Trump questioned why no substantial revelations had emerged under President Joe Biden’s administration if, as long rumoured, a damaging “client list” ever existed.
“If the Epstein Client List had a smoking gun, why didn’t the Democrats release it under Crooked Joe Biden?” Trump wrote. “BECAUSE THEY HAD NOTHING!”
The comment—delivered in Trump’s trademark all-caps style—appears aimed at addressing rising scepticism among his supporters, many of whom once believed he would expose high-level individuals linked to Epstein’s criminal network.

Trump’s remarks follow renewed attention on Epstein’s connections after The Wall Street Journal published a report discussing alleged correspondence between Epstein and political figures. The new material has reignited speculation about possible blackmail operations tied to Epstein’s social circle before his 2019 death in federal custody.
The former president has not been charged in connection with Epstein’s crimes, but his past acquaintance with the disgraced financier remains a frequent topic of political and media scrutiny.
Photos and quotes from the early 2000s show the two interacting at social events, though Trump later distanced himself from Epstein.
By shifting blame to Democrats for not disclosing new evidence during their control of the executive branch, Trump appears to be reframing the narrative around Epstein’s case ahead of the 2024 election season.

Legal experts have long noted that many records tied to Epstein’s alleged trafficking operation remain sealed or redacted due to ongoing litigation and privacy protections.
The U.S. Department of Justice has not publicly responded to Trump’s latest claims.
While conspiracy theories surrounding the so-called “Epstein client list” remain persistent in some political circles, no definitive evidence of a blackmail scheme involving prominent global figures has been released by investigators to date.
The renewed online discussion comes amid broader efforts by Trump to solidify support among his political base as he faces multiple legal and electoral challenges.
