US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Israel has agreed to the conditions for a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, though Israeli officials have yet to confirm the claim.
Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump said his representatives held a “long and productive meeting” with Israeli officials in Gaza earlier in the day. “Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60-day ceasefire, during which time we will work with all parties to end the war,” he wrote.
The president praised the roles of Qatar and Egypt in facilitating the discussions, stating: “The Qataris and Egyptians worked very hard to help bring peace and deliver the final proposal on the table.”

Trump urged Hamas to accept the ceasefire deal, warning that rejecting it could worsen the situation. “I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this deal, because it will not get better — it will only get worse,” he added.
As of Tuesday evening, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government had not publicly confirmed the reported agreement or responded to Trump’s statements.
Netanyahu is scheduled to visit the White House next Monday for high-level talks, where the ceasefire and the broader Gaza conflict are expected to be central topics.
Trump told reporters earlier on Tuesday that he expects an agreement to be reached next week and indicated he would be “very firm” with Netanyahu. “He wants to,” Trump said when asked if Netanyahu was prepared to reach a ceasefire. “I think we’ll have a deal next week.”
Netanyahu has faced mounting international pressure to end Israel’s military campaign, but he has repeatedly insisted that operations will continue until Hamas is dismantled.
The militant group is demanding a complete Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza as a condition for releasing hostages captured during the October 7, 2023, attacks on southern Israel.

Hamas has not yet commented on Trump’s claim of a finalized ceasefire offer. It remains unclear whether the group’s leadership views this proposal as credible or acceptable.
Trump’s announcement follows recent efforts by Qatar to broker diplomatic breakthroughs in the region, including a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran last week after US strikes targeted Iranian nuclear sites.
Independent verification of Trump’s claims is still pending. M10News has contacted the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, Hamas representatives, and officials from Egypt and Qatar for confirmation and further details.
