The government of Israel has formally accepted a ceasefire proposal put forward by US President Donald Trump, following days of escalating conflict with Iran.
In a statement released this morning, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed the government’s agreement to the ceasefire, while warning of a “forceful” response to any violations by Iran.
The government declared that its military objectives had been achieved, claiming the operation had successfully neutralised Iran’s “nuclear and ballistic threat.”
The statement also expressed gratitude to President Trump and the United States for their “unwavering support” during the confrontation.
Prime Minister Netanyahu is expected to deliver a televised address later today.
