Saheed Wahab, originally from Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, Nigeria, sadly passed away a day after commencing his master’s degree studies at Teesside University in the United Kingdom on January 15, 2024. The Nigerians in the UK Community shared this heartbreaking news on their X (formerly Twitter) handle.
Expressing their grief, the community wrote, “Following the sad news we received regarding the death of Mr. Saheed Wahab, a student at Teesside University who died a day after arriving in the United Kingdom from Nigeria. He was here to start an MSc qualification but unfortunately passed away on Tuesday (16th January) afternoon in Teesside. May Almighty Allah forgive his sins and accept his return.”
Although the cause of death remains undisclosed, the community assured that they are in contact with the deceased’s family to coordinate burial arrangements. They mentioned, “We have reached out to his wife and family members in Nigeria, and they’ve given us permission to act on their behalf and arrange a funeral service for him here in the United Kingdom.”
His Janazah (funeral) is scheduled for Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Jamia Masjid Al Madina, 133a Waterloo Rd, Middlesbrough TS1 3JB.
In light of these circumstances, the community is seeking financial support for his burial. They appeal, “We’re soliciting for financial support towards his burial, please kindly donate generously to the account given below, may the Almighty accept it as an act of ibadah and grant us the rewards. Ameen.”
