Ryanair made aviation history by becoming the first European airline to carry 200 million passengers in a calendar year.
The milestone was reached during the 2024/2025 period when Maria Cornelia Vos, an 84-year-old passenger, boarded a flight from Fuerteventura to Madrid on Wednesday, 26 March, landing at 12:35 local time.

The airline’s CEO, Michael O’Leary, expressed his excitement about the achievement, stating:
“We are delighted to welcome Mrs. Maria Cornelia Vos as our 200 millionth passenger this year. Ryanair is proud to have carried 200M passengers in 2024/2025 and we are pleased that these 200M passengers have saved on average €5 billion compared to the average airfares of our competitor airlines.”
This achievement marks a historic record for Ryanair and further solidifies its position as Europe’s No.1 airline.
